During the turbulent years when his punk band Feine Sahne Fischfilet is rising to the top of the German music scene, frontman Monchi is always at full throttle. Until the band takes a break, and, for the first time, he has the time and space to confront himself. The scale tells him that the time is ripe: he weighs in at 401 pounds.
For as long as he can remember, Monchi has always pushed the limits and beyond. As someone who likes to hog the limelight and as the pugnacious mouthpiece for the band, his motto is: “All or nothing!” But this applies just as much to his countless crashes and drunken stupors in pubs and on tour. When binging has long since become the norm for him, he begins to question his certainties and habits. Understanding follows failure. He learns a lot about his own contradictions and quirks, about identity and the influence society can have on how we see ourselves.
